Cowikee Lodge Wins “Best-All-Around-Lodge” at 2013 SR-1B Conclave!
Cowikee Lodge traveled to Wiggins, MS on April 12 to participate in the Order of the Arrow’s Southern Region Section 1-B (SR-1B) Conclave. A Conclave is a gathering of all of the OA Lodges in that section, in this case six, for the purpose of training, fellowship, competition, and having fun. The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s National Honor Society, and is the world’s largest youth run and youth lead organization. As the weekend entered its final hour, the nearly 400 youth and adult Arrowmen gathered from Northwest Florida, South Alabama, and Southeast Mississippi went wild when the Section Chief announced that Cowikee Lodge won the “Best-All-Around-Lodge” for the 2013 SR-1B Conclave. Lodge Executive Committee (LEC) Minutes Available Online
In an effort to keep our members better informed, the LEC minutes are now published on our website within 10 to 14 days of the LEC. If you have to miss the LEC, you can now find out what happened. If you do not attend the LEC's and wonder what we do there, you can get a good idea by reading the minutes. You may find a topic that you want to discuss and may decide to join us at the LEC. FYI, the LEC is open to ALL Lodge members. Only the youth members, up to age 21, may vote in the LEC. You can find the link to the LEC Minutes on the left side of the page under QUICK FORMS.
2013 Winter Fellowship
The Winter Fellowship was a blast! We had approximately 40 members and 2 guests from the Section in attendance. The morning kicked off with a few well-planned classes. 2013 Jamboree Youth OA Staff Members Needed!
Any youth Arrowmen interested in attending the 2013 National Jamboree as a member of the OA Staff, please contact our Lodge Adviser, Lodge Chief, or Lodge Registrar for additional information. The cost to attend as an OA Staff member is $425 plus transportation. There are over 300 OA staff positions available. You must be an Arrowman and you must be 16-years-old to serve in one of these positions.
